| Giramondo Cycles, as it was known then, has been in existence since 1958 starting out at home making tracksuits and mittens. In 1964 Giramondo cycles opened its doors in Nicholson street north Carlton and two years later moved across the road to Fitzroy North. Giramondo Cycles and knitwear as it was known in the early days was the pioneer of woolen jerseys and tracksuits supplying most cyclists and clubs Australia wide.
In the last 30 years the industry has evolved dramatically with the clothing manufacturing growing substantially going from wool to high-tech garments from embroidery to screen printing to now sublimation printing. In 1994 Giramondo sportswear moved its complete operation to a new location in Fawkner.
